A QUICK HISTORY OF BMW
BMW, which stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH (translates into Bavarian Engine Works Company) was created in 1917 in Munich, Germany. In 1913, just before the end of World War 1, the company was building and creating aircraft engines initially. BMW's first car, a redbadged Dixi called the 3/15, was made in 1928.
During the 1930's, BMW would expand into sports cars and larger luxury cars setting the stage for what it has become today, which is the top-selling luxury brand automobile in the United States.
