A BRIEF HISTORY OF HONDA
Honda Motor Company dates to the late 1950's and was initially established a motorcycle company in 1959. In fact, to this day, Honda has been the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959. It is also the second largest Japanese automaker since 2001 and the world's eighth largest automobile manufacturer today.
In 1963, Honda produced its first automobile, the T360 mini pick-up truck, followed by the S500 sports car. Each of these production cars pointed back to Honda's motorcycle origins having chain-driven rear wheels and 356-cc straight-4 gasoline engines.
