A BRIEF HISTORY OF LAND ROVER
Based out of Europe, Land Rover is a British brand manufacturer owned since 2008 by a subsidiary of Tata Motors called Jaguar Land Rover. Before this, Land Rover was owned by the Rover Company who first introduced the Range Rover in 1970 and later BMW would take ownership followed by Ford Motor Company, then Tata Motors.
Initially influenced by the Jeep, the first Land Rover prototype was started in 1947. With a goal of creating a boxed off-road style, four-wheel drive vehicle, Land Rovers still use the same unified body and frame model that gives the older versions a similar look with today's models.
