Quick History Of Nissan

The name "Nissan" was not originally used for the 1914 car company in Japan originally known as Kaishinsha Motor Car Works. It wasn't until the brand entered the Tokyo Stock Exchange that the name "Nissan" was coined as an abbreviation for the company. The name stuck and in 1934 Nissan was formally introduced to the world.

Nissan became well known in the United States for its beautiful sports cars in the 1960s and 1970s like the 240Z, which greatly contrasted with the muscle cars of the day. Today Nissan is known as one of the largest Japanese car exporters in the world, selling millions per year.
